I created a table to store episode metadata - this can be the basis of several new templates, I hope, but it needs filling out first.
This is a community wiki - Matt and MCDM aren't involved in running it, the community is. This should be our resource, for us. The players aren't the target audience, and they should be keeping their own notes :P
If you're talking about Module:EpisodeData, that module is just a place to store episode metadata, so it should be formatted in the way that's easiest to maintain. Since a) campaign diaries will always have an associated epsiode, they should be linked on and referenced on the episode's page, etc, and b) even when Matt skipped campaign diaries, he kept the numbering of the actual episodes, and Lua out of the box shits the bed if an array is missing some numbers, I think it makes more sense to keep them together.
We can always make the functions in Module:Episode that use that data do whatever we want with it. Module:EpisodeData is just about making it easy for anyone to add those links all at once to every page that needs them, quickly.
I like "Behind the Scenes" as the name for that section - I see you added one to the Teeth page & it looks good to me. I added one to Sariel's page as well.
I'm imagining that we're going to end up with quite a lot of Behind the Scenes content for some things that Matt frequently goes back to in the videos and it will make the in-universe sections very confusing if we keep having to have asides in there like "Matt had originally planned for this event to take place at X, but moved it when the players burned X to the ground. Then he later changed his mind about the NPCs involved..." etc.
Because we're going to get such a peek behind the curtain with the planning videos, campaign diaries, and Matt's frequent explanations and discussions on Twitter and Reddit, I feel like Matt's show is going to be quite different from the usual type of show. We will probably therefore need a different type of wiki to document it.
A big part of the value of Matt's work and the reason why he does it is for the benefit of DMs. I would like to emulate that spirit by being up front in situations like with the Teeth of the Dragon, when Matt has said that he simply hasn't made up the facts in question. We shouldn't pretend, in a lore-y fasion, like those facts exist but are vague or unknown, if we can document that Matt simply has no idea yet how it will work.
When the Campaign Diaries and Campaign Planning videos are out, we'll have a lot more of that type of content. I would like the wiki to document the content of those videos as well as simply the lore and background of the characters. If Matt says in the Campaign Diary that he completely changed his intention for a character because of something the players did, for example, I'd like to have a place to document that on the character's page.
I'm not sure at all how this should play out in practice though, so I'm eager to hear other people's ideas and opinions.
